Surprise Surprise!!!

Ah, the pitter patter of little feet on the floor.... I'm quite sure that there is no better sound.

Kennedy decided yesterday that she was going to walk. She completely skipped taking a few steps at a time and went straight to walking everywhere by herself. She is such a stubborn little girl, I have a feeling that Judd and I are in for some trouble.

Cereal Anyone?

As most of you know, I do the coupon thing.... I cut them, find sales and then irritate the people who are in line behind me as the cashiers frantically scan piles of coupons one by one.
I was so proud of this most recent trip so I'm going to brag :) I bought everything in this picture- 20 boxes of cereal, 14 boxes of fruit snacks, 10 packs of cookies, 10 boxes of Eggos, and 6 boxes of rice Krispie treats for a grand total of 60 items I paid 30 dollars plus tax .50 cents per item!!!! Plus Kelloggs is doing a rebate and they will be sending me 10 dollars back..... SO I REALLY ONLY SPENT 20 dollars. (I know you may be thinking that all we eat is cereal and junk food, but I swear we do eat regular home cooked food!)

What would you rather be... A mermaid or a whale?

This is a story my friend Katie http://thekitchenmissscarletcandlestick.blogspot.com/ sent me... I thought it was funny and that I would pass it along
Recently, in large French city, a poster featuring a young, thin and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym. It said: this Summer do you want to be a mermaid or a whale? A middle aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym. To Whom It May Concern: Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans). They have an active sex life, they get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with dolphins stuffing themselves with shrimp. They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia, the Barren Sea and the coral reefs of Polynesia. Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs.
They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world. Mermaids don't exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They don't have a sex life because they kill men who get close to them not to mention how could they have sex?
Therefore they don't have kids either. Not to mention who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store? The choice is perfectly clear to me; I want to be a whale.
P.S. We are in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver and a coffee with my friends. With time we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, good gosh, look how smart I am...

New Toys!!:)

Well I finally got enough of my bikes sold to get Leslie a new bike. And in the process I rode a different bike then the one I had and decided it was time to replace mine as well. So I put my bike up for sale and voila sold the next day. Leslie was so excited to get hers. Well I was too. We got it Monday and she has already been out on two rides. Thats all she ever wants to do now. I love it:). So here they are. Our new bikes!!!

Leslie with her new specialized safire:)

Leslie tearing it up through the yard. She really is a natural on the bike. I is so
much fun to see how much she improves everytime we ride.

Where's Your Vada?

We took a trip to Arvada Colorado (Denver area) for the 4th to visit my sister and her family and do some mountain biking. At one point while driving with Jeremy and the other kids back to the house Jeremy asks "Where are we going?" I respond "eh, we are driving back to where you live." Jeremy then pipes up from the back seat and between 4-year old giggles he asks "Where's YOUR VADA?" Get it? Yourvada instead of Arvada (his city) Thanks for the joke Jeremy and thanks Lillian and Ryan for the great weekend... Oh and for the AMAZING steaks! Here are a few pictures for all ya'll. Enjoy!

Ah... Cousins. Kennedy and Jocelyn chillin' in their diapers.

This was Kennedy's favorite spot in the whole house. She would go from picture to picture and jabber.

Judd and I after our ride, proof that I didn't die.

At the summit looking down on Denver.

A short stop during the ride. You can't really tell, but my legs are mutilated.

Ah, how sweet :) We had so much fun!

A picture of Judd in action, except he stuck out his tongue.... Boys, they always ruin perfectly good pictures.... But it's still cute :)

Looking down on Highway 70. It was so beautiful! I am now officially addicted to mountain biking. This was only my 6th time on a mountain bike, and my 2nd time riding clip less pedals, so I was pretty excited that I didn't die or deform myself more than I did. It was so nice to just get out and spend time together as friends. I love that I am married to my best friend... How cool is that?

Jeremy and Jocelyn. They are so well behaved and they get along so well.... Fingers crossed that's what my kids will be like.

At the Denver zoo with Lillian, Judd and the kids.

Judd made a little squirrel friend... A scene straight out of a Disney movie.

PENGUINS!

K sporting her new Denver Zoo hat.... I was a bad mom and forgot hers.... eh, good excuse to get another one right?

Jeremy and Elena

Why hello there!

Playing in the car at a rest stop. She did so well on the drive! Yay for sleeping babies :)

Now I know my ABC's

This is a video of my niece and nephew singing the ABC's. I think it's so hilarious that Jeremy pushes Elena behind him! Ahh, sibling rivalry, such a sweet thing :)

Heights, speed, bed-head and dirt eating... What more could you ask for?

Judd raced his first ever down-hill mountain bike race over Memorial Day weekend at Sundance. He has been biking downhill for a few years now. Before that he raced cross country. I think that I would prefer him doing cross country.... There is far less chance of him looking like this after.... The story is far too long for me to want to type, but to make it short he fell... A LOT. He BOUNCED three times on his back and still managed to pull out a 9th place finish. His buddy Phil got second place (pictured).

A view from the lifts after the race was over. Judds parents are both afraid of heights, so it was really enjoyable watching them squirm ;).

I love this picture... Like father like son, both sporting thier goofy faces.

Getting ready to bike... Or so dad thinks. Most parents measure the height of the kids on the wall. Not Judd, he measures how long her legs are, so he knows when he can get her a bike. Oh, and the guy in the background looks so little doesn't he? Optical illusion.

Like daddy like daughter... Both covered in mud... although I am pretty sure that Judd didn't eat any ;)

At Sundance eating grass while waiting for dad to ride down.... I swear I'm a good mom, and I was watching her!

At Sundance waiting for dad to ride down.

My little teddy bear :)

Yes, it's true. Kennedy can climb up our stairs. She has been crawling for well over a month and makes her way around all of the furniture walking. She doesn't stay in one place very long before she is off exploring something new.
Kennedys first ever bed head. This picture kills me because she looks so out of it. :)
