So with the warmer weather it has been quite eventful around our house. Judd has been back on his bike every day that he can and I have been hitting the road in my running shoes. It seems we have both come out of hibernation from the VERY long cold winter.
We planted our very first garden! Here's what our green thumbs planted: Watermelon, TONS of tomatoes, carrots, strawberries, sweet peppers, hot peppers, onion, spinach, lettuce, sugar snap peas, garden peas, and pole beans. We also planted a blackberry and raspberry bush and a grape vine..... And if this weren't enough we also planted peach, apple, and nectarine trees. I will be doing a lot of canning this year.
Kennedy is sprouting as well as our garden, she is now 8 months old.... I wonder if I stop watering her if I can get her to stop growing? HAH.
She is very curious and gets into EVERYTHING! She crawls like a champ and everything seems to make its way directly into her mouth. She is a "bum-up" sleeper which I think is so stinking cute, so I took a picture for ya'll. She got her first real "wound" the other day when she slipped her little fingers into a heater vent and cut them on the inside. It took both of us to get bandaids on her because she kept moving her fingers in an attempt to eat them.
This is a video of her trying to walk. Judd took this video a few weeks ago. (Sorry about the clothes, I had just returned from a run.)
I ran the Salt Lake City half marathon a couple weeks ago. I ran it for fun instead of torturing myself the whole time to run faster. Turns out that I ran 15 minutes faster than the last time I ran it, still a far cry from my race times when I was running for the Army team but I'll take it :). I came in with a time of 1 hour 44 minutes. The best part of it was the man who came in right behind said to me after the race "man you're tough to catch, you were my goal and I couldn't quite make it" Ahhhhh, it felt so good to hear that.... The best part; Judd and Kennedy were there waiting for me at the end
