Utah State Fair

Kennedy and I went to the Utah State Fair with my sister Camille and her sons. It was so much fun! They had sharks, a live bear show, and tons of exhibits to see.... But the best part was "Little hands on the farm".

You go into a "barn" and put on a teeny apron and grab a basket. As you go through the farm there are successive buildings with different activities...
ie; you take corn to a (plastic) mooing cow and then milk (water) the cow. In return they give you a bottle of milk.

You pick apples from a tree, plant seeds in a garden, pick vegetables, gather wooden eggs from fake chickens, collect wool from a sheep etc...

Petting the sheep :)

And at the end you trade all of the things you have collected in return for a fake dollar.
They have a little store set up at the end where you can buy any one thing with your dollar. Kennedy had so much fun, but I think next year she might like it a little more, and maybe she won't be afraid of the chickens :)

OK, so I look like I am going to eat someone, but I was really being a newscaster :)

Watching the Bear show.

Belated Birthday

A few pictures from Kennedy's birthday. Since she was born Judd has been measuring the length of her legs to see if they were bike worthy. Well, they finally were...almost. So for her birthday we got her a Strider bike check them out here: http://www.mystriderbike.com/?gclid=COKmifC46pwCFShRagodThWajw She can't quite get her feet on the ground yet, so it is quite a funny sight to see her pushed around by Judd and her little feet flailing in the air back and forth. Her helmet looks so funny on her, and makes her look strikingly similar to a Star Wars Storm trooper :). We had lots of cake and ice cream (in my opinion the best part of any birthday) All in all it was a good birthday with friends and family.

CAKE!!!! Yum. I think she got more in her hair than in her mouth.

Our little Storm Trooper.... And her tongue :P

Biting the bars.

Biting her present.... she likes to bite things, especially your fingers, don't get them too close or you're in for a few gap-teeth marks.

Top Of Utah Half Marathon

This last Saturday I ran the Logan half marathon with my two running buddies Mistee and Jana. This was the first time that I had friends running with me, which made the whole experience so much better. The first four miles were a little more painful than usual since I was nursing a broken rib which made breathing a bit more difficult. I think that it just went numb after a while, or I just stopped paying attention because it didn't hurt for the rest of the race. My time was 1 hour 44 minutes... I was hoping to make this a faster time than my last, but I'm just glad I could run it at all after breaking my rib the week before. The best part of it all was my Judd and my baby girl waiting for me at the end. Mistee and Jana did really well for thier first half marathon. Can't wait to run some more! I forgot how addicting racing was.

Provo River Half Marathon

I ran the Provo river half marathon a few weeks ago, besides the fact that it was FREEZING at the start it was a pretty fun race. I grew up running on this trail so it was a very familiar course. The last 1/2 I did was SLC and I came in at 1 hour 44 minutes. I shaved a few minutes off of this one coming in at 1 hour 41 minutes..... Nothing compared to my old Army Ten Miler teammate check him out here: http://guam-runner.blogspot.com/ He is AMAZING, and if you look hard enough there is a picture of me on his blog :) Proof that I ran with a running professional.... Once upon a time. I have another one coming up this Saturday in Ogden and a few of my running buddies are going! YAY! I have always ran races by myself so this should be a nice change.

Surprise Surprise!!!

Ah, the pitter patter of little feet on the floor.... I'm quite sure that there is no better sound.

Kennedy decided yesterday that she was going to walk. She completely skipped taking a few steps at a time and went straight to walking everywhere by herself. She is such a stubborn little girl, I have a feeling that Judd and I are in for some trouble.
