Playing With Boxes
I am longing for the simple life this morning. When the 7 of us were growing up we had very little money. Because of this we made fun with what we had. We would turn the stairs into a slide by hopping in sleeping bags and sliding down. We turned the living room into a fort by taking the cushions off of the couches, stacking them by each other, and covering them with a sheet to make a roof. If all else failed there were always empty boxes laying around. We would have box races. We would all hop in our own box and scoot across the floor as fast as we could to the other side of the room. Here is a picture after such a race. These are my 3 oldest sisters, and in the background is one of my brothers.

I was thinking this morning how nice it would be to not have to worry about anything more than who would be the winner of a box race, or whose turn it was to slide down the stairs next. I guess you could say that I am feeling a little nostalgic today, and I am missing the more simple things in life. The simple things which are all too often set aside for the necessary and repetitive things in life such as work, cleaning, exercise, etc.
Maybe today I'll wake Judd up and we'll have a box race or two. And I'll skip my daily torture session at the gym..... That sounds heavenly!

Vid-E-o's :)
Here is another video of Kennedy hanging out in her crib. She is so good, when she wakes up she'll sit and play until I get her. Just recently she found two new wonderful toys which are conveniently connected to the ends of her legs. She loves to play with her feet, even while I change her diaper, which works out great because I don't have to hold her legs up anymore :)
This next video is for Liz, who got us these great spoons. Thanks! They work great!

Sick and Tired of Obama-Rama
That is my two unsolicited cents for today.

Welcome to my crib
Here is a video of Kennedy in her crib. She loves to make noises, but whenever she catches sight of the camera she stops and stares at it. So I had to be a little sneaky about getting this video, I snuck up and crouched down while I held the camera just over the crib bumper. As you can see we can't get a blanket to stay on her because she either kicks it completely off or it ends up bunched up by her face like it is in this video. She loves to do her double leg kick.... Maybe she'll be a ninja when she grows up ;)

The best gifts come in small packages
This year was the best Christmas I have ever had. No I didn't get a Lexus or BMW in the driveway with a big red bow on it,
or even a giant sparkling piece of jewelry like in the those cheesy commercials. What I had this year was better than anything a commercial or movie can portray. I had my family. I know that this sounds tremendously cheesy, but I feel so thankful to have such a wonderful and loving family.
I told you the best gifts come in small packages didn't I? Here is Kennedy in a box. She fit so perfectly that I couldn't help but put her in it, and she looks so stinking cute!
We got Kennedy a snowsuit the other day and decided to try it out. She wasn't sure what to think about the snow.
The three of us.... Only one of us dressed correctly, and that is the littlest one. Judd and I just threw on some snowboarding boots and gloves. We didn't bother to tie the laces or grab jackets because we were too excited to take Kennedy out in the snow.
Kennedy and Mom
:)
Here is our nephew Jameson with Kennedy on Christmas. He adores her, and asks innocently "Wessie, did you bring your baby?" every time I show up at my moms house without her. He also asks "did you bring your Judd?" He always replies "you should go get them, I want to play with them." He just makes me melt.
My little sister Paige doing a puzzle with me, our family does at least one every year as we sit around and talk on Christmas..... Speaking of puzzles, the Zimmermans had an exciting adventure in puzzle making. Judd, G&G (Grandma & Grandpa) Zimmerman and I stayed up Christmas eve making a puzzle..... Well, we tried to anyway. It took a good hour and a half for G&G to put 9 pieces together. I haven't laughed so hard in quite some time. We'll have to make that a tradition :)
Grandma Z and Kennedy on Christmas
Daddy and daughter... I think it is safe to say that she looks like her dad.
Kennedy is on her belly a lot lately. She has started to roll over, before I know it I'm sure she'll be crawling. Where has the time gone?
Mum and baby.
I just had to put this in here. My friend Katie gave me this book for Christmas. It's not a book that will win any Pulitzer prizes, but boy is it FUN-NY! It is a step by step How-to on getting fat. Very funny, and unintelligent... Just the kind of book I enjoy. In addition to this book there are others in the "Self-Hurt Series" like "How to Traumatize your Children" and "How to Drive Like a Maniac".
