Just a Touch of Camoflage

I'm feeling very nastalgic today, so I thought that it would be nice to post some pictures of my sister julia and I. Julia is a Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. She is on the USMC highpower rifle team, and has won the national championship several times.... So pretty much she is amazing :) I once googled her name just to see what would come up- pages and pages full of articles and info came up on my big sis. She was the Marine Corps female athlete of the year, and has spent time over in Iraq. The first picture is of Julia and I at the rifle range getting our concealed weapons permits, the next is a picture of her on the ranges at Camp Perry Ohio where the National championships are held every year, The next is one of me all decked out in flak vest and kevlar :). The next picture is me in front of a plane in Iraq, and the very last is a picture of Julia on the range teaching.

So here is a little surprise that Judd found in our new house. He sent me a text with this picture... HAH! Boys, and dead things.... they CAN'T NOT TOUCH THEM! So I thought that I would share this wonderful picture with ya'll so that you can enjoy it just as much as I did.... (Insert sarcastic voice here) :)

THE..... KITCHEN???

So here are some fresh off the camera pictures of our kitchen. As you can see the family who lived here before us were not the cleanliest of people.... And they REALLY liked the color blue. So what we have done so far: We dropped a bomb in the house and ripped everything out that we could. Judd pulled up the kitchen floor along with the rest of the kitchen and put in new electrical and outlets. We are now waiting for our cabinets to be made and installed. Today we get a new window :) All in all it is alot of work, but it will all be well worth it when it's done.

Playing in the Snow

Here are a few pictures from our most recent snowboarding trip. Judd and I went up to Beaver Mountain and snowboarded for the day.... Well, at least until it started dumping snow on us. I love the first picture of Judd, he is such a goof ball. The last one is a view from the truck as we were leaving. After leaving we had a cup of hot chocolate waiting for us at the Sparks' house, so we were able to thaw out a little :)

Which One of These Things is not like the Other?

Here are a few photos of Judd and I at the Sparks' home on Christmas Eve. This family is nothing short of amazing! These photos are courtesy of Oertel :)And since they are so similar we will try something fun.
Okay, so I know that most of you have played this game.... Afterall, they used to be a mainstay in every issue of the Friend Magazine..... So here's how it works: There are 10 things that change from the first picture to the next. See if you can find what they are and then post a comment bragging about how well you did, and how many you found. The answers will be listed below so NO CHEATING!

Things That Make You Go Hmmmmm?

What would be your first reaction upon seeing such a creature? Well, I'll tell you what mine was.... I ran straight back to my car and grabbed my camera. After all, I had to have proof of such a sighting, or else no one would believe me. I of course asked the woman if I could take a picture, and I was really sweet about it (didn't want her to scrath my eye out or something). After talking with her a while I found out that she had not clipped her nails since 1976. Why she picked this year to turn herself into a walking circus attraction I do not know... Perhaps she was celebrating the launch of the Apple computer.... that happened in 1976.
Who really knows what motivates us as humans to act the way we do? This definately is a thing that makes you go... Hmmm?

Our New Toy

Ever wonder what people do in front of mirrors when no one else is around? Well..... Wonder no more, here is your answer; They make faces at themselves, and if ever possible (providing that there is food involved) it becomes "see food". At this point a person might ask themselves, "Why in the world are they posting such pictures for us to gawk at?".... Well, the truth is that we have no adorable (or hideous) children to take pictures of so that people can gawk at them... So, alas my friends you are stuck with the "see food" from our experiment with our new web cam until we get our own little "see food" artist....
